How does this look? I don't really like it because I had to convince the lap belt to sit on his lap and not ride up his abdomen. It was a pain to buckle because you have to thread the belt under the very low armrest. I don't think this will be the seat for us.
I could easily see the super low armrests being a real pain for bigger thighed children and a real oppurtunity for misuse.

**He only ever rides in a Radian** I have started shopping for the best fitting booster seat for him but he will not start "booster training" until sometime after his 4th birthday. His stats are in my siggy.

OK, OK. I'm just a car seat junkie and had to have the new booster. :p

Those super-low armrests act as false hips, helping keep the lapbelt low in a crash. ;) I know people complain about low armrests, but what is the alternative? Higher armrests won't do the job of keeping that lapbelt from riding up and causing seatbelt syndrome injuries.

A ha! I'm new to the wide world of boosters. ;)

Hehe. :p

Also, with the anti-sub clip, I feel like there's even more protection from seatbelt syndrome. I wouldn't stress over that lapbelt fit at all. Kids (especially when they're truly mature enough to be in a booster full-time) learn to deal with low armrests. I know buckling was painful for dd for a long time (a year or more), and then something just clicked with her coordination and she "got it" even though we use a booster with pretty low armrests, and we have female buckle stalks that are recessed almost within the vehicle seat, hard to reach.

Wow! He weighs 48 lbs, really? He doesn't look that heavy to me. My DS is exactally the same age (his b-day is 10-04-05) and he weighs 38-39 lbs.

LOL, atleast. 48 pounds was a few months ago and I can tell he has gained even more weight because I can't carry him up the stairs anymore without keeling over. :p We used to call him "cinder block" because he weighs a lot more than he looks.

ETA: He weighed 40 pounds when he turned two. It has taken him 2 years to gain the last 8+ pounds.
