Toyota 4Runner or Cadillac SRX?

4Runner is definitely more truckish feeling. The trend is to make suvs carlike. Smoother ride, smoother engines, etc. I know people with both. They all love their respective cars, but it really depends on what you're looking for.

I assume this is to haul a family around, but do you tow or go off roading a lot? Generally, I'd go with the Caddy if you just stay in town assuming the insurance on it isn't a lot higher.

Not sure about the latch/tethers tho.

According to the LATCH manual, the '04-'09 SRX has full sets of LATCH (lower LATCH anchors + tether anchor) in each second row outboard position, and a top tether anchor in the second row center, with no LATCH/tether anchors in the third row. The second row outboard tether anchors are located on the wheel wells behind the vehicle seat, and the second row center tether anchor is located on the vehicle floor behind the vehicle seat. While I haven't actually been in an SRX to see the overall interior layout, IMHO, the description of the location of the tether anchors might pose problems if you wanted to use the third row to transport additional passengers behind tethered carseats in the second row. :twocents:

The 4Runner (the '01-'09 models) is listed with full LATCH for the second row outboard positions, and a top tether anchor for the second row center, with all 3 tether anchors located on the back of the vehicle seat. There's also an important note about not using the second row center seatbelt when a carseat is installed on the driver's side with LATCH because the center seatbelt may be pulled up too high on the passenger's abdomen, causing injury.
