CPI Foods, Inc Recalls Non Fat Dry Milk Because of Possible Health Risk. Non Fat Dry Milk packets are components of CPI Foods shelf stable meal kits distributed to various community service companies in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, West Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Kentucky.

Buffalo SAV, Inc., a Buffalo, N.Y., establishment, is recalling approximately 208,768 pounds of frozen meat and poultry products ("GRANDMA'S perogies" Brand) because they contain an unapproved ingredient, Amaranth Red #2. The frozen meat and poultry products were produced from June 1, 2008, through June 5, 2009, and were sent to distributors and retail establishments in California, Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania.

Traditions, a Pearl, Miss., establishment, is recalling an undetermined amount of various boxed pre-packaged meal kits ("TRADITIONS MEAL SOLUTIONS", "ILSmeals Home Meal Delivery Service"). The boxes contain separate portions of instant nonfat dried milk, which was previously recalled. The pre-packaged meals were distributed nationwide to various food distributors and regional nutrition service providers. These meals were not available for consumer purchase.

JBS Swift Beef Company, a Greeley, Colo., establishment is voluntarily expanding its June 24 recall to include approximately 380,000 pounds of assorted beef primal products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The beef products were produced on April 21, 2009 and were distributed both nationally and internationally. Kroger has stated that some of their store (Kroger, Food 4 Less, Fry's, Smith's) brand meats came from JBS Swift. Some other grocery retailers are also affected, such as Scarborough, Maine-based Hannaford Supermarkets and Quincy, Mass.-based Stop & Shop. Hannaford is urging customers in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont to check freezers for the recalled beef.
