Hi,

We need to replace our Honda 2-door and dh is looking at a few pre-owned models.

The requirements for us are:
- prefer 7-8 passenger SUV (we have a 2001 Odysey) but 5 passenger is fine but must fit 2 boosters and 1 rf/ff across the 2nd row bench
- 2006 or newer
- Approx. CAD $20k (I'm not sure of the US equivalent in term of vehicle pricing, we are probably looking at Acura MDX price bracket)
- prefer 'foreign' like Honda, Toyota, etc.
- 2nd row to fit 3 across: 2 boosters and a rf carseat (don't have the convertible seat yet, but can be Britax, Radian XT, TF whichever fits in a 3-across situation)

Dh likes the look but knows little about ratings, reliability, etc. of these:
- Honda Pilot
- Mitsubishi Endeavor
- Hyundai Veracruz
- Nissan Exterra, Pathfinder or Murano (5-seater)

We briefly looked at Saturn Outlook (which dh liked the look a lot) but the 2009 is so expensive (just a few grants less than the Pilot)

Any opinions on what to get, what else we should consider, etc.? Help!

And thanks.

I really like the honda pilot from your list. I also would recommend the toyota highlander. It gets excellent ratings, has three rows of seats, and you can fold away the center 2nd row seat to create a walkway through to the back seats.

I would not reccomend the pathfinder - they look great, have lots of power on and off road- but we found ours not be very family friendly. We owned a 2007 and recently traded it.
We could fit 3 across, but the rearfacing seat presents problems because the front seat had to be moved up so far! Also there is not a lot of leg room for the older kids in boosters- my son was in a frontier and was always complaining that he couldn't straighten his feet out. so ok for around town but didn't fit our lifestyle of being on the road a lot!

Thanks all. Dh is still looking at cars but I think he ideally would like the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot. I like the Toyota Sequoia but he'll never go for it since he says it's huge :)
