After lusting over a Maclaren Volo (mostly for in our Wrangler) I decided get the Salsa when I found it on sale at Costco.com for about $60. I love my Zooper Rhumba and they have a full refund (including shipping) return policy if you return it to the store, so I figured I couldn't lose. Overall, I like it a lot. I took some pics comparing it to the Volo since I really wanted to know how they compared before I bought it.
Here is what I came up with that I like better about one or the other:
Volo- The way the fabric is in the head area would be better for
sleeping/resting. It sort of leans back without reclining instead of pushing the head forward a little.
Salsa- Larger wheels, and they have "tread" on them that makes it just
slightly not as smooth feeling on really smooth floors. Not really better or
worse, just different.
Salsa- It's not as tippy with stuff on the back. This is just a personal
thing that I really like.
IMO, they are the same hight, about the same look, and push with the same
ease on a smooth BRU floor. The Salsa seat is a little wider. I would guess the Salsa might be slightly better on a rough surface, but who knows. My Salsa (Costco.com) was also quite a bit cheaper than I have seen any 06 Volo. The Mac may look just a little more "showy" than the Salsa, but that's really subjective and I can get over it for the difference in price.
The Mac Volo that I was comparing it with must have been the new 07 model
because the logo was a little different, and BRU also had new Triumps (I like
them a lot better than the old ones) in and the 06s on sale, but only about $10 off.
