EFTA install center seat Civic/Corolla

Ok, forgive me if this is a dumb question. I really really want to put DS RFing in the center seat of our '07 Corolla and '08 Civic. I just bought an EFTA for the Civic (for $107 yay!) and I'm getting a TF for the Corolla.

DH couldn't figure out how to install our Snugride in the center because there is no LATCH there on either cars. But I want to change now since I know it is safer. I knew it was safer, but I thought the LATCH was better, so...

ANYWAYS. Any hints on this? Do I look in my car manual or the car seat manual for instructions?

You would look in both manuals (car and child restraint manuals). :) The Civic and Corolla do not have dedicated sets of lower LATCH anchors for the center, and neither vehicle's manufacturer allows you to install in the center using/"borrowing" the outboard position's lower LATCH anchors, so you'll need to follow the instructions for a seatbelt installation if you intend to install in the center. We have plenty of Corolla and Civic owners experienced with the EFTA and TF who can also probably give you specific pointers, but your best bet is to try installing first yourself and/or with your DH. Then post back with any specific questions, and you can also post pictures of your installation here if you like, and/or seek out a certified technician to check your installation in person.

I have installed both the EFTA and the TF in the center of my 06 Civic (which is the same as the 08). I used the seatbelt in both cases, twisted the female end once or twice (I can't remember), and locked the seatbelt. Both were solid installations. :)

Thanks! I will try to install tomorrow and see how it goes.

I previewed the manual for the EFTA and it looks pretty straightforward. Better than the SR manual...
