Is this the DOM?

I'm having a yard sale tomorrow, and I invited my sister to join in with me. She has 2 car seats that she wants to put in the yard sale (yes, I already told her she shouldn't but she insists). There is a convertible that expires in year, and an infant carrier (SnugRide) but I'm not sure if I'm seeing the DOM right. It says Manufactured in 091703

Is the 091703 the DOM as in Sept 17, 03?

I'm trying really hard to convince her not to sell this.

If your sister insists on selling them, I'd make a point to make sure whoever is buying is aware of their expiration date.

Absolutely! I just typed up 2 signs (1 for each) that I'm going to tape onto the car seat with the information of the DOM & expiration date. My sister probably won't be too happy about it, but oh well. I really hope she reconsiders in the morning when she gets here and sees the signs. I'd so much rather her just trash them.

As long as they haven't been in a crash, the straps haven't been washed, no parts (including manuals) are missing and they haven't been abused, they're ok to use NOW. And better than nothing for someone who might othewise use nothing. But the fear I would have would be that someone would use them past their expiration.

I've given a seat to a friend that had less than a year left of use because she had nothing else and was going to put her 3.5 year old in a backless booster because she couldn't afford anything else. But I made sure to get it back from her when it expired and made her promise in exchange for giving her the seat for free that she would at least get a high back booster when it expired.
