I went to BRU Sunday with a friend to pick out a new seat for her 6 month old (he got an EFTA btw :D) and there was a lady there looking for a seat for her 1 year old 20lb 2oz baby girl to go in Daddy's car. She said she is in a MA in her car. So she was asking us questions and said something about FF'ing. My friend and I both told her why she should consider RF'ing longer, told her the AAP recommendation, and I dropped the "internal decapitation" bomb :D So then she started thinking about RF'ing longer. So then the salesmen comes up and asks if he can help. I see him about 5 minutes later showing her the FN!!!! so I walked over and told him that seat is for a minimum of 25lbs and 2 years old. The he should be showing her convertibles. Grrrr...if BRU is going to hire people, shouldn't they be training them in the car seat dpt?! All he had to do was read the paper that is on front and he would have realized that seat is wildly inappropriate for a 1 year old baby. At least I know I did my best, right?

Yep, all you can do is do your best.

I work at BRU 2 evenings a week, and while I have spread some info among my co-workers, I'm not allowed to officially train them because they're concerned about liability. Don't ask me how them actually giving out correct info creates more liability than them selling a ff'ing only seat for a 7mo old, but apparently it does. (At least the parents knew the kid needed a rf'ing seat and returned it right away when they realized it didn't rf...)
