On a long trip (not WDW) where we would not need a seat on the other end, I opted for the CARES harness. It fit my DD well and resembled a carseat harness just enough that she understood it was to keep her safe. She really liked it and seemed comfortable.
On our trip to WDW this fall, we will be using carseats on the plane for both littles since we will be renting a van to use in FL. I am going to borrow Evenflo Chases - I think that those sit low enough for the tray table to still be used? I anticipate that my younger little will have outgrown RF by that point and both he and DD2 will be forward facing full time. Obviously, if we use the chases on the trip, they will be FF!
