dh is driving a 99 Ford Taurus my dad gave us.....it gets horrible mpg.....it's a 6 cyl.

I might have a chance to buy a 97 Camry with >85K miles on it

giving this some serious thought, even if it means taking out a small loan to do so....

it will be my first Toyota......have owned mostly Hondas

wdyt??

What kind of maintenance has been done on the Toyota? Do they have records?
In other words the history of the Toyota versus the Tauraus you already own. It would be horrible to switch cars and end up with a lot of repair bills.

we'd be getting rid of the Taurus---the gas mileage sucks!!

as for the Toyota, it belongs to a co-worker of mine---it was his wife's--she passed away late last fall

it's a 97 and has between 80-85K miles

I will definitely ask him about the maintenance history and have it checked out

I'm a toyota fan. Assuming the Toyota has been properly maintained and they have approx the same miles, I'd feel much more comfortable with the reliability of the Toyota.

I'm a huge Toyota fan. My parents have a 96 Camry that is in fantastic shape.

I'd take the Camry to a mechanic to get it checked out (usually about $50-75). It's worth the investment to find out if it will need repairs soon, has any damage, etc.

I am a Toyo fan as well, had an 02 until this winter my wife got into an accident, and she came out unscathed as for the car it was totaled but she was fine.
