She and two friends were driving to the casino this morning. They were turning left and a guy ran the red light and hit them offset center. My MIL was driving, there was a friend in the passenger side, and a friend in the back seat. They were all wearing their seat belts. The ambulance took all three to the ER and they were there for a few hours. My MIL had X rays which came out fine. Her discharge orders say she has a concussion on her chest from the seat belt and a concussion on her hand from the airbag.
All three women were discharged from the ER this afternoon and are on heavy duty pain meds. I didn't see her friend in the front passenger side but I did see the one who was in the back. She has a HUGE welt on her neck and upper chest from the seat belt. It was very clear from her welt that the belt was too close on her neck, I wish I had gotten a picture of it. I would say she is about 5 foot 4. I REALLY don't like how the seat belts fit in the back of toyotas. I'm five foot 8 and the shoulder belt isn't right on me in the back of Brian's 2000 Camry and I've posted about how Jacob doesn't fit in my sienna and he is now 5 foot 2 and 130 lbs.
Here are some pictures.

There is no doubt in my mind that they were saved by the seat belts and airbags.
