2001 ford freestar top tether?

I think you mean the Windstar not the Freestar! I do believe that the 2001 has tether anchors on the back of the seat. It looks like a metal loop (much like latch anchors) but it is on the lower portion of the seat back. If you were to fold the back of the captains chair you would easily be able to see the anchor on the back of the lower seat.

Pre 2001 the anchors are located underneath the seat.

Does that help or are you more confused!

ok yes it is the windstar. Im relaying info from a friend.
It has a bench seat and I am trying to figure out if 2 regents would fit. Would the latch still be on the bottom of the frame?

I'd have to referrence my LATCH manual (tonight), but I believe that 2 Regents will fit on the middle row bench -- at least they can in my 2005 Freestar & the only change that I know of off hand is that outboard middle LATCH can be used in center for a lone seat (rendering outboard seats useless) + front seat has tether anchor....
