I have an RA that is about to expire. But about 1 year ago, while it was sitting "naked" in my living room & the cover was in the wash, one of my DSs ripped out the EPS foam--played with it, and shredded it
Well, I called Britax, and they said it was no big deal--it happens all the time. The EPS was an orderable part. I had to pay for it ($10-$12 plus shipping or something like that) but they shipped it to me, and told me to reinstall it with duct tape--which is what I did. It's just 1 big hunk-o-EPS foam that wraps around the sides & head area of the seat. The shape of the seat basically holds it in place. I didn't really even need the tape.
So....I'm about to trash the seat, but since the EPS is just 1 year old, I thought I'd offer it free-for-shipping to anyone who would like to have a backup on hand, in case of a situation like mine.
In terms of shipping, it weighs nothing, but is biggish--and will require a box of some sort. I expect that it will probably ship in the range of $5-$6, based on size. But I haven't even dis-assembled it yet, so I can't give quotes. If you want it, feel free to say "I'll take it, as long as shipping is under $$ amt...." or something like that. Shipping is from 22030 in Virginia, if you want to try to calculate yourself. The box will be about the size of a small toaster oven (Best descriptor I could come up with!) but will be less than a pound in weight. i may be able to use a USPS Priority mail box--the biggest one.
PM me if interested.
