If no Britax... then what? (in EU)

After reading this thread I am a little confused . I was on the verge of buying a Britax, but I'd like to hear more opinions now...

The most important question is: if there're better seats than Britax, are they ALSO available on the European market? I understand there might be a fairly good choice in Canada or in the US, but I live in Germany, so...

Of course, I am asking advice on RF seats (what else?? ), and with the longest possible RF "life"!

Britax, Graco and Maxi Cosi are the only brands you´ll meet in EU. Maxi Cosi makes an RF seat that RFs to 40 lbs. Maxi Cosi Mobi.

Graco makes several RF seats. some RF to 40 lbs one or two RF to 25 kg/55 lbs as far as I know, unless they have changed it.

Britax makes RF seats to 40 lbs and 55 lbs

After having seen a few crash tests on the internet, I would say that Britax still wins in EU.

Both Graco and Britax make RF Isofix seats to 40 lbs.

Maxi Cosi does not make RF Isofix seats, and the children cannot RF for as long as they could in the Britax seats unless we talk Isofix 40 lbs limit seats. But Maxi Cosi is among the brands that provide good quality seats.

I have not seen a crash test on the Mobi seat. But Maxi Cosi is a really good brand

So is HTS BeSafe: RF to 40 lbs but really good seats.

The same thing goes for the Britax seats - really good quality seats, and they can keep your child RF until 5-6 years old

So it basically comes down to how long you want to keep your LO RF. Britax seats WILL keep LO RF un til at least 4 years old and most likely until 5 or 6.

The rest are a bit more uncertain in this regard. But they´ll make it RF to at least 3.

Brio (Zento)gets low scores in tests. that is all I know about the seat: RF to 55 lbs but has a short back with regard to its´ high weigh capacity. Will keep your Lo RF until at least 4 years old tough.

My son is fairly small (as I said in other posts before, I wonder from whom did he take it ), nonetheless I'd prefer not to "count" on it (saying: I'll take a RF till 40 lbs, he's small anyway) and have the possibility to keep him RF as long as possible. So Britax be it...

I know it's not a convertible, but Maxi Cosi does make an ISOFIX base for the Cabriofix infant seat, so technically this is a r/f MC seat (goes to 13kg)

Thank you for your suggestion but 13 Kg would be enough till... yesterday!
I have too an infant seat with base which goes to 13 kg, but my son has just reached this limit... hence my need for a new seat!

Can one of you tell me which Britax (Römer) seats with extended RFing are available in Germany? I've been researching the ERF seats available there and haven't come across any by Britax so I was wondering which ones you are talking about. If you're planning to import it from somewhere else can you tell me where? Just curious for my own purposes!

Of the ERF seats I've found available in Germany the ERF seat by Wavo seems to get the best ratings across the board. Don't think it was mentioned in Lena's post so just thought I'd throw that out there. It is definitely an isofix seat.
