Scenera for a newborn?

How does a Scenera fit a newborn? We're trying to figure out our options for our second vehicle. We were going to just buy a second base for our Snugride but at $49.99 we're wondering if a Scenera would be a better idea as we'd get more use out of it for an extra $15...

Another questions: How easy is it to adjust the straps on a Scenera when it's rear-facing (as compared to a Marathon and a True Fit...)

Also - anyone know what Walmart's return policy is? We were thinking of picking one up to try in both vechicles to check on the ease of install. Also, how often does Walmart put them on sale?

Here's my lil man at ~9-10 lbs in teh SnugRide:

And the Scenera:

Not a great fit, but definitely do-able. I'd get the Scenera over another base personally.

you found one in Canada for that price? That in and of itself is impressive. At my local walmart they are $80

They're on sale at Walmart right now for $65.

But we just went to look at them and I'm thinking we'll probably try to find a different option for the second vehicle.

Why are the car seats in canada so expensive?

Good question. I think it is partially we don't manufacture them here therefore they are being shipped from elsewhere. Canada is also a much smaller market therefore things cost more (supply and demand). Say Britax can sell 10, 000 marathons in the USA... in Canada they may only sell 1000 therefore (I'm just pulling numbers out of the air... I really have no clue ;)) the per unit price goes up, does that make sense?

Sigh... the cost of being Canadian
