It came today, and at first Josef was NOT so happy about it! The very first thing he told me was "but Momma, it doesn't have any straps for me" He did not want his photos taken, but I had to get some photos of course :) How do you ladies think he looks in it? He will go for his first ride tommrow evening-a whole two miles up to the soccer fields for practice. Thanks for looking!

He is 41lbs and about 42" overall, we had a love/hate relationship with the GN-and he is only in Daddy's car twice, maybe three times a week and those trips are about 10 minutes, so perfect booster training. He did seem so big in the GN and now looks so small in the Monteray!

He will stay harnesed in the Regent for at least another year-crossing fingers!

He is so adorable!! I think he looks fine in it, he seems tiny though.

I know what you mean about the GN!! I finally put my 5.5y/o in the Monterey and she is doing well but I really would have prefered she be in a Regent :(

I'd heard that the Monterey wasn't great for particularly small kids, but he looks really good in it. seems a little wide at his hips, maybe?, but the side and head protection seems like it makes up well for that.

Back to considering one for my small 7yo (~46", 42lbs).

Am I the only one who doesn't think he fits well in it. It looks like the shoulder belt is about to fall off his shoulder. He's too cute though.

Ya, your right it does. My dd1 fits the same way, I have to constantly be watching her and reminding her to "put her shoulder into the seat belt"

Josef just happened to lean over to see the neighbor's go-cart about the moment I snapped the photo. I will be sitting in the back seat with him for a while more than likely :) This was taken as soon as he got out of the shower, and we was sooo ready to go to bed-at 6p! I guess this is what we get for him being sick with a flu-type bug for four days and not sleeping well at night :(

He is built just like me-narrow thru the shoulders, and my seat-belt is constantly bothering me! Why can't seat belts fit petite women better!

I wish he had his Daddy's shoulders-Daddy should have been a full back, lol.

Wow, he does look smaller in the Monterey than he does in your siggy.

On the couch, it looks like one side of the headrest is higher than the other. Or was it just the way he was sitting? I'm comparing the shoulder belt guide to his shoulder. Also, in one of the lap belt picures, I'm seeing a half twist in the belt, but I can't figure out where the other half twist is.

Can you move the headrest up a click? That should help get the shoulder belt on his shoulder a bit better.

What a cutie!

It was the way he was sitting-and we have a couch that the cushions are "refillable" and they need some more stuffing ;)

I can not stand that stupid twist in the seat-belt! I am going to work on it tonight before Soccer practice, because I can not figure out how on earth it keeps happening! It is really driving me NUTS!

I was going off what the manual said about the placement of the head-rest, and while I thought he hardly had enough room above his head, I wondered if another click would be "too much", KWIM? As it is now he is on the second click, I will see what it is like in the third click and take pics before soccer practice of course :)

Thanks for the compliment! We are partial to our one and only miracle man :D

It might help you, and Josef, if you have the child move over a bit. Instead of having their bum in the center of the seat, move them to one side or the other to get the fit on the shoulder better.

josef looks much more tiny than i thought he'd look in it! WOW!

i wouldn't call it my favorite fit but it works OK. it just seems too wide for his slender body

He is just adorable! I am not sure on the fit-it is away from his tummy, so that is good. I do agree-he is smaller than I thought. ;-)
I am very curious how my 6 year old would fit in this seat. He has about a 16 inch torso I believe. I like this seat. Wish I didn't have all the daycare kids or I would buy this in a heartbeat.
