KeyFit or SnugRide?

Baby isn't due until May, but I'm planning ahead and car seat obsessed, so I'm asking anyway. S/he will likely be 9lbsish, and will almost certainly reach 20lbs at or before 6 months. The baby will ride in the captain's chair in a '95 Odyssey. No LATCH, so it'll have to be a seatbelt install.

We were looking at the Compass, the Keyfit, or the SnugRide. My older two had a SnugRide, and we generally liked it, although the lack of padding made for some cranky car rides in the beginning. Dh likes the look of the fabric of the KeyFit better than the Compass. Which is easiest to install with a seatbelt? Thoughts? Opinions?

Keyfit - awesome seat!!! but check out their new #30 pound seat coming out next Feb. If it arrives in time for your baby I would definately get that over the safeseat (since the weight limits will be the same) - my cousin has a safeseat and I have a keyfit and my seat and base are so much nicer, more solid (and I don't mean heavy - but the safeseat base is not as sturdy feeling) and waaaay easier to install.

Thanks for the replies. The KeyFit looks awesome, and that's great about the 30lb weight limit. I almost hope they keep producing the smaller weight limit version, though. Once my kids hit about 18llbs, they're way too heavy to lug around in an infant carrier, and I prefer the convertible for them.

I have looked at the SafeSeat several times, and it's monstrous, IMO. I think it would actually take up more room in my van than my Marathon. It's way too heavy as a carrier to take out of the car.

When the child gets too heavy to tote in the infant carrier you just simply discontinue removing it from it's base and simply leave the seat in the car.
