It seems like the DC doesn't have that much more crotch room then the BV/MA even on the 2nd slot. Anyone with first hand experience with this.
I'm contemplating getting a RA for my DS (instead of the BV) and then a Regent when we turn him forward but I'm concerned of a few things:
1. he would outgrow the RA refacing by height before weight - he is already 27 inches at 5 1/2 months and when we put him in the RA there was only like 3 maybe 4 inches above his head and I will keep him refacing until 33 pounds so maybe the BV is the way to go
2. I like the idea of the TSIP on the BV because DS is our first and in the center but when we have another he will go outboard and right now one of our cars doesn't have side curtain airbags.
3. It seems that the crotch strap on the BV is close to curving up around him (does that make sense). The tech had said this happens to almost all of the kids she sees in this seat but I just wanted to ask your guys opinion.
Oh and one more thing in any refacing seat - infant or convertable- once my DS head is 1 inch from the top he is too tall, right?
Thanks,
Steph
