RF weight question

We weighed DD2 on our postal scale today after her nap, with a shirt, jeans and shoes on - she is 30.8 lbs. She turned 2 on 12/22. The MA in my car is a 33lb one but she never really rides with me - It is only if i have to leave work to go get her in an emergency but 99% DH can go get her and he has 2 35lb seats. When should I turn my 33lb, and when should I turn my 35lb ones? She still has almost 3" above her head so it seems her weight will be an issue before height.

It will probably be June before she hits 33 pounds, and October before she hits 35 pounds. No guarantees, but you don't have to start weighing her weekly just yet.

I turned my dd at 32lbs when I had a 33 lbs seat. She is now back RF in a 35 lbs seat and weight went down to 30lbs!!! And with summer coming and less clothing should help too!!

True i didn't think about summer clothes - i just don't want to get too close b/c DH and i are both in full time school and i work full time - I promise you no matter how i try i will forget to weigh her often as she approaches the limit - I was not really sure how bad it would be if i weighed her one day and said oh crap shes 34 and the seat goes to 33 - KWIM?

While it's not a good idea to intentionally go over the limits, the seat is not going to be fine at 33.00 pounds and fail spectacularly at 33.01 pounds, KWIM?

It would only be bad if you said it out loud in front of the kids :D Same thing happened to me with Bitsy when she was 4, though...she held steady at 31 for a long time and then bam was 35. I had gone maybe a month without weighing her. I turned her FF, all was fine. No, we weren't in a crash to test out how fine it was, but it was installed and used properly and I have no regrets that she snuck up over the limit by a couple pounds for a couple weeks.
