What can you tell me about the combi avatar?

Slot hieghts, ease of use, features?

It's on sale for 79.99 over at specialty baby. Is that a good deal or is it a seat worth passing up?

When the COmbi Avatar first came out, lots of people compared it to the Britax Roundabout. The Avatar, however, apparently had deeper "wings" and higher harness slots. Lots of people really seemed to like the Avatar.

However, the Avatar suffered after Consumer Reports tested the seat and found that the LATCH system failed in a testing situation that was under 30 mph. Combi responded by recalling the seats. I think there were some other problems with the Avatar, but I am not positive.

I don't think that Combi still manufactures the Avatar. Do they?

They have them at albeebaby, they say they are just in from the manufactuar and not involved in any recall.

I don't know, then.

I'd call Combi to verify that they are in fact making the Avatar again.
