I do need to address the idea that 10 year olds don't need boosters. That's patently false in many situations, and with the kind of vehicles you're talking about buying it will be the rare 10 yo who even passes the 5 Step Test. And if they do not pass the test, not using a booster could be deadly.

Very true. Now, find me a backless (because all other high back are too short) to fit my 9 year olds big fat butt! Way too big for the turbo backless, I tried! I can't spend 140 dollars on a booster just to use it backless. And then, backless doesn't take care of the no headrest issue:whistle:
I think, if we are all posting here, on the extra forums, we are quite aware of the all the info out there, kwim? Which is why I stuck my now boostered child middle bench in the parkway, and the one that can't fit in the turbo in a captains chair:p
Although I really think my 12 year old could use a booster in the bench, I don't know what I could get to fit a 100+ pound, 5'2"+ teen, and have her be happy to be in it.

My 105 lb, 5 ft -ish 12 1/2 yo fits beautifully in the Britax Frontier in booster mode. (actually, my 5 ft 8, 140 lb but fits in the frontier. LOL) His *only* complaint? It's pink. :p lol

You know, i thought about a 9 passenger sub or excursion, but I was not at all comfy with putting someone in that front center seat. Nor did I want to deal with no headrests (have 3 kids now not in any restraint) or lack of lap shoulder belts in all positions. So, 9 passenger conversion it was.

ITA with not putting someone in the center front seat. I was thinking only 6 carseats for the OP, but she did say she'd need more than that. Oops!

I think the conversion van you have is the perfect solution for a big family.
