Why is rear facing safer? - Pictures please

Well we all know why of course, I just wondered if I could have any pictures to 'prove a point' for my website for others to look at. If you have any please share!

They are illustrating a frontal collision.

In the first (rear facing) set, the force is more evenly applied and the spine isn't as traumatized. The child is first pushed BACK into the seat, ending with a slight rebound of the head forward. Note the red arrows at their hips. To me it shows how much "gentler" the crash would be for a RF child.

In the second (front facing) set, the child slides forward, then the harness restrains them back and their head WHIPS violently forward, then slams back into the seat. (There is no WHIP or slam in the rear facing set.)

The first set shows, "Back, back, done." The second set shows, "Forward, whip, slam".

here is a crash test for you on YouTube. The bigger seat is a Britax Duo Plus. It is installed with the car seat belt and Top Tether in this video. The infant seat is a Britax Cosy Tot that is not tethered - just installed with the car seatbelt.

LOL This thread is nearly two years old hehe (that was my old user name). I've learnt a lot since then and found plenty of pictures ;)
