seatbelt question

I drive a Grand Caravan (03 if it matters) and rarely I need to put all 5 of my seats in the van to transport other kids. I have a Snugride, WZ, 2 RNs, and a Scenara. I install the RN outboard in the 3rd row and then the Scenara in the middle, and when I do, I put the RN in dead center in the 2 seats, super tight, then I sit in the middle seat and push the seats as far outboard as I can get them and check to make sure they are still in tight.

When I do this I can install the Scenara in the middle tightly too, and it hardly touches the RNs.

So, is it safe for the seat to be in tight but not be in the center of the seat/seatbelt? I'm assuming as long as everything is in independently and tightly, it's ok, please tell me I'm not wrong. It makes it SO much easier to get the RN in tight if I do it this way. If I start with it over to the side, I have the pulls forward floppy seat issue with the belt path, it appears tight but then I can pull it out with the harness.

I'm not positive if I understand exactly what you're asking, but is the idea that the child restraints are installed slightly off-center of the seats they're on?

If so, as long as they're all independently tight, that's fine. When doing three-across, it's often necessary to move the seats off-center a little to make them all fit.

Yah they are off center, I want to make sure that's ok.

I'm installing them dead center and then sliding them over while installed, it's a hard push to move them, but they do move (I usually sit on the seat and push the base with my feet).

Once I move them they are still in rock solid.

When you move them over, are you moving them more than an inch? If so, they're not properly installed.

If you're just nudging them a little, that's probably ok, but then I'd be worried about whether they're independently tight or not.

I have to push REALLY hard, I couldn't move them over by hand, I have to push with my feet. They do move more than an inch over, but once they slide over I can pull on them and shake them and they don't move with my arms.

They aren't as tight as LATCH on the captains chair (where dd usually sits in a RN) but they are certainly tight. They are tighter than I can get them in my mom's car, and I am comfortable that her car is a safe install, though difficult.
