A few questions about the 2009 True Fit

Sorry for all the questions, but I am still struggling with my decision on the right convertible for my DD. She is almost 10 mths, 30 inches and 23 lbs. I plan to keep her RF until 30ish lbs and then buy a GN.

As far as the TF goes, I have a few questions....

Will it fit okay RF with the headrest on in an 06 Jetta?

At her size, will she need the headrest right away?

What does the anti-rebound feature do and is it worth waiting for, or should I go ahead and by the model that is currently available?

Are there any new patterns coming out this year?

Thanks so much for any help =))

I can't answer all your questions, but to tide you over until someone more informative comes along, I'll answer what I can:

YES, you would need the headrest straight away - 22lbs is the maximum for using it without the headrest.

However, if space is your concern, bear in mind that for an older baby who no longer needs the full 45 degree recline, the seat can be installed as upright as 35 degrees - which may not sound like much, but can actually make a huge difference as far as the seat taking up less space. We drive a Ford Focus (so not a huge car by any means) and when we had a Britax Marathon installed at 45 degrees, our front passenger seat was literally unusable. When we switched to the TF (which is actually a bit taller than the MA) but put it in at 35 degrees, I can now sit comfortably in the front passenger seat and I'm 5'8" with freakishly long legs for my height. So, although I have zero experience with Jettas, I would make an educated guess that you can probably work it out if you install the seat somewhat more upright than 45 degrees.

Yes, the headrest is needed for a rear facing child over 22lbs. My 16 month old son is rear facing in the center position of our 4 dr Neon and the True Fit is a perfect fit with room for us to move our seats back if we like. At 9 months old, Caleb was 23lbs but now at 16 months old he is only 26-27lbs so he has really slowed down the weight gain. He is mainly getting taller but I still see him reaching the full 35lbs before outgrowing rear facing in height. The True fit is my favorite seat
