Safest place for convertable car seat?

We are buying a new car soon and I am not sure how well the Britax Marathon (that I plan on buying) will fit in it. I know the middle is the safest for a baby/child, but if I have to pt it behind the drivers or passangers side...which side is the safest place to put it? Thanks!

There's been a bunch of studies and neither is really a bit safer over the other. So put it where you get the best install and are able to carry other people safely.
