RSTV and winter coat

I know that you can't have the kiddos wear coats in a carseat b/c of compression/ejection. How about the RSTV? I would assume that there is no issue with ejection, but I wasn't sure if there was some other reason that a winter coat could impair the functioning of the RSTV. DS is in the small RSTV (42in, 42 lbs) with plenty of room to spare in it.

Unless it's a thin fleece coat, I'd take it off.

You don't want ANY bulk between what's restraining your child and your child.

I would take it off simply for the fact that it would be incredibly uncomfortable to have all those layers on once the car warms up.

Even adults, in regular seat belts should not wear a coat.

Thanks for the replies and info. I wasn't aware that adults shouldn't wear coats either. Good to know! We're in the Puget Sound region, so typically we wear either a thin fleece or, more commonly, a thin lined water proof jacket.

i just travelled to Puget Sound, it was very beautiful there!

not to mention cold!
