Help me with a booster

Ok, I need to think this through. We are getting Adam a booster in the next few months. I can't decide what to get. Right now I am deciding between the Monterey and the Oobr. The thing is, I really want an oobr. I know they are expensive, but I love my olli. I mean love it. It is just such a fantastic seat that I can't imagine not loving the oobr. The Monterey is obviously a lot cheaper and is a good booster. The practical side of me says just get that. Any advice?

And BTW, you will see from my siggy that Adam is 5 and not quite 40 pounds. No judgement please. I am comfortable with him riding in one in the situation he will be riding in.

Well, the Monterey adjusts heigher, so longer use than the Oobr. I can't justify the Oobr, but I love it to!

I want to get my boys Oobrs. There is something about the Monterey that I don't like - haven't seen one, but just I don't know.

yeah, I don't like the look of the Monterey either, but it works well. That is all that matters.

The monterey looks like the alien from ET to me when it is fully extended. It does look strange, but I probably will still get one since it adjusts so high.

How much higher does the Monterey adjust?

And why oh why don't we get a tech discount on the Oobr?

We are very very happy with the Monterey. After looking at the Oobr on the thread here, it looks like a great booster, but I wouldn't pay the extra money for it when the Monterey works so well for us.

I personally would just wait and see. The Oobr may come out and be a huge dissapointment! Not all that likely but it is possible! We waited forever for the Signo and Como and once they finally arrived no one loved them as much as they thought they would. I'd wait and make the decision once we have some reviews of the seat and once you can sit him in both seats and see which seat fits him better.

I agree that the Monterey is less expensive and I think it's an awesome seat. But, if you end up loving the Oobr and can afford it, get it! I really want one for my dd and she is still in a Frontier and has a PW as a backup!! We don't even need a seat and I'm looking at one for her. Likely totally indulgent but it seems so super cool!

Thinking some more, you might want to consider a parkway or vivo since he is still pretty small. They seem to hug the smaller kids better.

I think you should buy my monterey so I can buy an oobr. ;)

I'm going to wait and see but I'm really thinking of getting oobr because I would feel safer with the rigid latch. Taking the monterey and pulling it foward I would say it moves about an inch and a half and if I pull one side up it moves about 3 inches.

I bought the monterey specifically for Jacob so I didn't consider the jane indy plus since it isn't as tall.

Benjamin used a booster a few months ago with my MIL because last time she watched him she didn't tighten the straps on his marathon, it was safer for him to be in a booster!

Oh and here is a picture of him in the monterey.

well i LOVE the monterey! the oobr looks nice too but agree with a PP that i couldn't justify it when the monterey does such a great job.
