Does anyone know of one that has been tested along with the car seat? I realize head huggers are a no no if they haven't been tested along with the car seat you intend to use it with, Is this the same for wool liners?

TIA.

Are you talking about wool liners that lines the inside of the carseat, similar to these:
http://www.salusathome.com/Padded-Baby-Infant-Car-Seat-Covers-p/le-pscsl.htm
http://www.babyworks.com/catalog/product.asp?pf_id=4430&dept_id=44

If so, I would say they are not safe since the liners look pretty thick and may cause the harness not be to as tight as necessary when the wool compresses during an accident. Here is a good video showing the compression issues that may be faced with bulky snowsuits or carseat liners:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM1LJaOIu34

Also, the slots on the liner most likely don't line up with the carseat slots which may cause the harness not to tighten properly. Also with the parent not being able to see the actual slots in the seat, the parent may not be able to tell when straps need to be raised or lowered to fit the child best.

I also wonder about the flame retardency of wool liners covers. Government regulations require that all covers on carseats contain flame retardants to prevent injury to a child.

There are several options for keeping kids warm while they are in a carseat. If you post your specific setup, maybe someone can provide some ideas that will work for you.
