When did Britax change the Roundabout?

I was talking to my friend the other day and she had just gotten a Nauti for her 3 year-old so she could move her 7 month-old into the Roundabout. So we were talking carseats a bit and she mentioned that her RA is smaller than her MIL's RA that is slightly newer. I had no idea they had been changed. So, when did this happen and what changes were made? I'm sure somebody here knows.

Maybe they had different covers that made it look smaller? (like if one is cushier it can make the seating area look tinier?). Because yeah, they haven't changed anything since the base back in 2003ish.

My 2002 Roundabout was the old design, prior to latch straps. I think all the latchable roundabouts have the newer base design and those seats were hitting the market in the end of 2002.

No, they made some old-base RA's with LATCH straps...it was a real pain in the bum because the base was wider than the car's LATCH anchors.

So they didn't change anything with the seating harness height? She says there is more growth room in the newer RA than in hers. I asked if it was just the vehicle differences and she didn't think so. I haven't actually looked at them to compare.

Is it installed at a different angle? Generally the more upright, the more room the child has to grow. Or is it a matter of the cover not lining up? Britax covers are notorious for that and you have to be sure to judge against the slots in the shell.
