They turned my 13 month old niece around ff. My brother does not take advice very well, so whatever I send needs to be concise, true with statistics, and to the point. I didn't bother them about erf my nephew because he had a safeseat 2 and they wouldn't have bought a new seat to rearface him. My niece has a comfortsport and I am pretty sure that she still fits by height. She is about 22lbs, so has a little time before she is 30lbs.

What about the RF vs. FF crash test videos on You Tube? I'd find them for you but I'm at work and should really get the hec off this forum...

Those videos were all it took for me; the things I read after just reinforced what I saw. I showed them to my DH as well (DS was only 10 months at the time) and he balked at the idea then, but DS is 17 months now and the subject of FF has never come up in our house.

There is also the recent post about Joel:

That probably doesn't meet your criteria for being concise, but the picture of Joel at post #21 is pretty powerful.

Oh, I just remembered that the Kyle David Miller foundation has a really good section on ERF:
http://www.kyledavidmiller.org/pages/4209/Car_Seat_Safety:_Rear-facing_is_safest.htm

It's a little long, but it is very well written and the key points are at the top so if that grabs him he can keep reading and get the full story.

Good luck! I'd be curious to hear how it turns out. Especially what did the trick if you can get them to turn her back around.

What about something like this:

-----------------------

<mention something nice about bother's family first. Maybe something about something really neat that your neice or nephew was accomplishing or something praising like that>

I had recently come across some information that I thought might be helpful for your daughter.

You probably are aware of the current minimum standards of keeping kids in their carseats rearfacing until at least 1 year and 20 pounds, but have you heard about the recommendations to keep kids rearfacing in their carseats for as long as possible, preferably up to at least 2 years old or 30 pounds. These are pretty new recommendations so a lot of parents and doctors aren't aware of them. If you haven't heard about the information, check out this you-tube video which highlights some of the reasons to rearface in a carseat for as long as possible.

And also a great link explaining the reasons to rearface in a carseat past 1 year and 20 pounds:
http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/stayrearfacing.aspx

There is a lot more information out on the web so if you do an internet search on "extended rearfacing" you can read what the experts are saying.

I was really surprised by how much safer rearfacing is, so I wanted to pass this information over to you as soon as I learned about it. I really love my neice and want her to be as safe as possible while riding in the car.

<maybe end with another positive about the family or invite them over to your house for a fun activity or mention how much you are looking forward to seeing them soon>
