Recaro Signo Midnight Desert - Backordered?

Hi! I'm wanting to order a Recaro Signo and I really like the Midnight Desert color. Why is it backordered everywhere?

Is it a new color?

I noticed that the "sand" color is on sale at albee baby. Is there any difference between the two seats other than the color. I like the darker color of the "midnight", but for $70 less I could learn to love the "sand"!!:):D

Are you sold on the Signo? You might want to look into the Como in Midnight Desert. Just to compare at least.

there's no functional difference between sand and midnight desert-- it's the same seat. we have a sand como in MIL's CRV and it is kinda "blah" but our midnight desert signos are nice. the one downside is that the black gets a bit warmer in the sun, but that hasn't been a problem for us in reality.

According to them(an email I recieved today) they are waiting for their supply to be depleted before making any new seats. They have not manufactured any Signo's after 12/07. So maybe the Midnight Desert is depleted now and that's why it's not available. I think Feb. was when it was said they would start making new seats.

We bought a Midnight Desert color too, but in Como. It's black. Most versatile seat color. If you have a grey interior, it can still look good (we originally got the grey, but it has lotsa blue accents so if you have a girl, it may bother you). The sand is all tan, so if you have a black or grey interior, it doesn't match.
