Question Britax crash return program

I remeber reading on this forum a few years ago that Britax would, in some cases, replace a seat that had been in a crash. I think it was because they wanted to do research on the seats that had been through crashes. My husband and daughter were in a crash today (they are ok) and I cannot find any info about this now. I'm curious if the program still exists. Thanks.

I think the car had to be really bad. A major crash. Nothing minor if I recall. If you call Britax I think they decide if if was major. Car I think has to be a loss. I have a friend who Britax took both of her seats. Her and her three kids were in a head on crash at 50mph. she was hosiptalizied for three days in critical condition. Children walked away unhurt.

The car was totaled. They were hit by a 19 year old drunk driver. It is amazing that they weren't hurt badly, they are just sore, seat belt abrasions, etc. I just can't find any contact information on the Britax website about they program. I was wondering if they discontinued it. I thought someone here would know.

Though it looks like maybe they are not maybe doing it anymore? http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=52977 I'd still call...

Thanks for the link. I had searched the forums, but it came back with too many results for "Britax crash" than I wanted to go through. She was in our Marathon that is about three years old. We just bought a Frontier for my car; I think I'll buy another Frontier to replace this one. This was a side impact crash, and I really like the side impact protection on the Frontier, especially now.

I will call Britax tomorrow and let you all know what they say.

Even if they have discontinued the program, you may be able to get reimbursed through insurance. If the other driver was at fault, their insurance company will generally cover the replacement of the crashed seat. If your dh was at fault, it depends on the insurance company. If you are in California, the at fault insurance company is required to replance any seat that was occupied during a crash- even if your dh was at fault.
