Should I take DS out of Regent?

I weighed my 8 yr old DS tonight and he is 78.6 lbs. This is with shoes on after a meal, so it is at his heaviest for the day. Should I take him out of his Regent and put him in a HBB? Or how much more time do you think I have with the Regent? Thanks.

Bizarre, quick reply won't work for me anymore...

Anywho, how is he in a high backed booster? If he's mature enough to sit properly, I'd probably make the switch now since he's at 79 pounds. If he were 3 or 4, I'd hold out and weigh twice daily, while starving him of course :) But at 8, if he sits properly, I wouldn't sweat it :)

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. I think he should be OK in the HBB. Who knows how fast he will gain that pound and a half and I really don't want to have to weigh him daily. :) Younger DS will be happy. He will be getting switched to the Regent which seems much more cushy than his Radian.

I would feel perfectly comfortable with an eight-year-old in a booster (as long as he sits properly, of course).

Yep, at 8 years old & this close to the limit, I'd switch him :)

Your 5 year old might also find the Regent more comfortable than the Radian, too....
