Just curious...

What vehicle has the most "safe" seating options? Meaning..has headrests, lap/shoulder belts, LATCH equipped...even side airbags.
What vehicle out there right now has the most to offer?

I was just thinking what I might be looking to whenever we can no longer fit in the Expedition. One more spot available in there and at that..I don't know how the others will fit.

LOL No, I'm not thinking that far in advance and obsessing, really, I'm not. I was just thinking about that the other day and wondered what vehicles would be options for us.

Oh and I'm not just talking new...we wouldn't be doing new. The oldest, safest, most seating vehicle...how's that? Ideas?

A strong safety contender: 2004 and newer 8 passenger Toyota Siennas with the side curtain airbags, lap/shoulder belts and headrests for all seating positions, LATCH and rear tether anchors for all second and 2 third row seats. 2006 models have the airbags standard while 2004-2005 models had them as an option.

Also, I think for slightly less $ (but also less of a warranty) the Ford Freestar has ALR shoulder belts & headrests for all passengers, 3+ LATCH positions with top tethers ... side curtain airbags are optional & definitely enhance safety -- wish like heck mine had 'em :( (But I tell myself that by the time any of my kids are out of 5 point harnesses we'll have side curtain airbags!) Oh, BTW, my dealer told me the Freestar will not be made anymore  The Freestyle is supposed to be very similar as far as safety, but it too will not be made anymore. They both get great ratings with the side curtain airbags & my Freestar gets an average of 18MPG

What? The Freestyle (the station wagon/SUV crossover) is a brand new model...they just started making it in 2004. They couldn't have discontinued it already!

Nope, you're right. I just did a quick internet search and found out they are discontinuing it after the 2007 model year. Bummer, we were considering buying one in a couple of years. GRRR. Now I remember why I buy foreign cars...
