Free carseat in CA

Hi-ya,

A friend of a friend just had a baby, is still in hospital & cannot afford a seat to leave w/. Anyone know of a resource in southern CA? My friend has contacted various hosp., PD & FD's & soc svcs to no avail.

I can't believe that the hospital doesn't have cheapy carseats to give out??? I would check into CHIP or the health dept's where they give out free seats here.

I thought the hosp would have a seat too but my friend said no. I don't know this girl personally, so I can't contact her directly to offer advice, I'm a 3rd party, lol.

I'll try CHIP though - thx!!

What city? I happen to have a convertible seat that I need to pass along to someone who can really use it (only a year old, but not sure if it would fit a newborn...Evenflow Tribute)

If she does not have a seat to take her baby home in the hospital will give her a seat up on discharge. They will not discharge untill she has a seat. Years ago it was a cheap Evenflow convertable. Anna

Hi-she's in Covina @ Queen of the Valley hosp.

I haven't heard anything today re: status. I'll check and post back. Thanks so much!

Is she at Citrus Valley Medical Center, by any chance? They have a low-cost program.

Ummm...do you have any idea what Supervisorial District she's in? (Some programs are based on that.)
