I hadn't heard about that. So sad. But good for Grandma (not even a parent, Grandma!) for keeping her grandson in a seat well past the legal requirements.

Sad indeed about the grandma but  for the safely restrained kiddo. Isn't that location near the Air Zoo?

I thought it was close. We're thinking about visiting the Air Zoo later in the summer and the address in the crash article rang a bell.

That is VERY sad. I can't tell from the article if the child was in a booster or a harness. Either way... thank God that he was in something.

Jeanum... if you do go to the air zoo... give me a call and maybe we could meet up for dinner or something! I'll be there the first weekend in August for a boyscout camp... I'm working it. If you are there then... it may be fun!

Hmm, I wonder if by "child safety seat" they mean a booster. After seeing the head excursion videos for boosters it would make sense that he had a broken nose if he hit the back of the front seat.

You see me almost every weekend... LOL!

I was talking to Jean silly :)

Even if he was in a booster - that still goes above and beyond what's 'legally' required in MI right now. And here it's rare to see a kid in a booster past Kindergarten. My Ryan is probably the only kid in his class that's still harnessed, let alone in a booster.

I think it's great he was in a booster, I was just wondering if we could correctly assume it was a harnessed seat because "child safety seat" can mean many things. We're in SE Michigan (waiting on that law LOL) and DD is one of the few kids in her preschool in a harnessed seat or booster seat. Of course she's still rearfacing too but they think I'm just nuts.
