Frontier on airplane-anyone try it?

Okay, so I went HWH carseat shopping today. Went to BRU and sat Gwen in the Nautilus. Was impressed with the seat but worry about the lack of shoulder room. So put her in the Regent. Fit nice and had lots of room to grow. Out of those two she liked the Nautilus because of the cupholders and cubby holes. So then I headed to the local Red Giraffe store (just opened-I'd never been there yet) and lo and behold they had a Frontier! So put her in that and was more impressed. She had more shoulder room and it just looked sturdier. I did think that the arm rests were a bit hokey. But, sitting next to the Frontier was a Madison Regent. Of course that's the one she liked. I don't know what to get.
After all this I ask....
I know the Frontier is approved for aircraft, but does it install well?

I'd love to know as well, especially since airplanes only have lap belts and you can't use the LBP with a lap belt only in the Frontier. I plan to buy a Frontier soon and will need to fly from CA to VA with it in August and I hope that I am not the first person to test it out on a plane! We just flew with our FPSVD a few days ago, but my son is even with the top slots and in need of a new seat soon. I just wanted to see the Frontier IRL first before ordering.

I just played with it a couple hours ago. Man, that SBP is awful! I don't know how anyone with large hands could do it. Big PITA. But, the LBP is easy peasy and I got a rock solid install in my van's captains chair (SBP was a no go).
Just imagining installing on an aircraft gives me the willies. Maybe it's better than I think. To bad nobody's tried it yet...

i'm wondering the same thing...selling off the radian in hopes that we can just use the frontier when we fly from now on - by the time we fly next, though, i bet someone else will have tried it.

according to the britax site, the frontier has the same outer width as the marathon. it seems a lot bigger and i no longer have a MA to compare it to but people fly with those all the time, so i would think the frontier wouldn't be an issue, either.
