I currently have a Marathon for my son and love it. I am torn between the Decathalon and the Boulevard for 7 month old daughter. I see that the BLVD has the wings for side impact. Are they a comfort issue? Recommendations on which to buy?

I don't have any experience with the Decathlon or the Boulevard, but I would say go for the Boulevard because of the side impact protection. I had the same question about the head wings though...I would think they would be annoying and hard to see around...but like I said, I have no idea!

I haven't heard of any complaints over the BV's wings--there were some over the Wizard's wings (that was the seat that the BV replaced--they widened the wings on the BV to hopefully remedy any issues).

Are you planning on giving the MA to the baby and getting the 5yo a booster (I saw your other post)? Or keeping the 5yo in the MA and getting baby a new seat (Decathlon or Boulevard)? Or do you need two seats for each child (multiple vehicles)?

I am planning on moving my 5 year old to a booster and using his Marathon as my 2nd car seat for my 7 month old daughter. I would also like to buy her a new primary seat- either the Boulevard or Decathalon. The primary seat will be in a Honda Odyssey and the 2nd seat will be in a Honda Pilot.

Just a reminder---Britax seats expire 6 years after their manufacture date. So if you got your MA when your 5 yr old was young, it may be expiring soon and that may weigh into your decision as for what seat to get.

If I was picking between the Decathalon and Boulevard, I'd get the Boulevard for the extra padding, head wings, and easier harness height adjuster. Now, if the Decathalon didn't exist, I'd have a hard time justifying paying that much more for the Boulevard over the Marathon... but if I was getting it for an infant, I might go for it. Since my dd is 3.5 - the extra features on the BV weren't worth me paying extra for it (plus, she wanted the cow)
