Let's talk about Baby Depot

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here, but has anyone ever been able to return a car seat for a refund at Burlington Coat Factory? I'm talking about a unused, brand new seat with all the tags still attached, never been used in the car kind of seat.

The only place in my area that has the Nautilus is BCF, and they have such a nasty return policy. I have yet to be able to try IRL to install the Nauti in my car, so I'm hesitant to purchase from them. I spoke with one of the sales reps last week, and he said that NO, they didn't have a floor model I could try in my car first, and NO, once you leave the store and open the box, it is only returnable for store credit. :soapbox: Ugh. The BCF in my town is also one of the dirtiest stores I have ever been in. However, I am starting to get desperate. The nice baby store in my area is back-ordered several weeks at best.

Please tell me someone has had a good experience with them!

Um. Even if someone else has had a good experience with them, are you sure you'd want to hassle with it at YOURS where they have already said No?

Well, good point. I am getting a little desperate though. I was also hoping that perhaps that was just that one employee's spiel, and maybe they were actually more lenient in real life.

I believe that one of our regulars (Judi?) is a Baby Depot manager. I'm sure she can tell you what their official policy is. :thumbsup:

Are you near one? I would just go in and ask for a manager straight away. They typically have more wiggle room in these situations. They may in fact have a store model, or the manager may allow you to open a box therefore creating their store model. You will get much farther asking in person.

I bought a Nautilus at Baby Depot last month, and returned it about 1 week later for a refund to my credit card. I confirmed that I would be able to do this before I bought it though to be safe. I'm pretty sure this BDepot was advertising that their new return policy was to refund in the method paid. This was in Appleton, WI.

To be sure, I would ask for a manager at your store and go by what he/she says. Hope that helps!

I hate Baby Depot

I bought 2 Infant car seats for my TWINS and sine they were pre mature , they did nt pass the car seats challenge (at the hospital). I was promised by the baby depot manager that i could return if they did not . When we went back to them , they refused and issued a CREDIT STORE. :thumbsdown:

You can order it from Walmart and then if it is not a good fit you can return it to the store for a refund :thumbsup:

Thanks, everyone! I have gotten burned at BD in the past, and I just couldn't bring myself to go there again. I am going to wait until another store has them in stock.

I thought they changed their return policy within the past year to allow friendlier returns.

They have given cash back for a couple years now. If you pay with a credit card, you get money back on the credit card. If you pay with a check, you get a check. It has to be within 30 days, and please leave all tags attached.
