I went across the street yesterday and the neighbor was working on his car. He opened the car door to show me something and I peered in with the comment, "Oh I love car seats, what kind is this one?" and then I gave it a little wiggle to check installation. I jokingly said, "Oh, it's a little loose!" and then we both realized that it wasn't even buckled in!
Now this family is pretty good about seat use from everything I've seen, so we were both shocked. Apparently, the older boy had accidentally unbuckled the seat when he was in the car and no one had realized it. Luckily, they hadn't driven around like that. But they easily could've! So I saved Cassidy's life!
When I told my DH, he just said, "See, I told you you need to start some sort of car seat business." He knows I'm obsessed, but is also glad I am so we can do everything to keep our girls safe.
