I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my MA and wanted to know if there is anything special I should know about installing it RF. I've been told it will fit in the center of my 04 VW Jetta, but I'm concerned about using the LATCH? no LATCH? seat belt lock offs? Usually DH handles install but I wanted to get some tips and have some knowledge so I know he's doing it correctly.

VW does not allow sharing of anchor points, so you cannot use LATCH in the center position. You'll have to do a seatbelt install. But, I can tell you that the Marathon is super easy to install in almost any vehicle. You should not have any problems. You can use built in lockoffs with a lap only belt (you cannot use a locking clip with Britax seats nor can you ever use a locking clip on a lap only belt.

No, the new ones come with lock-offs facing the right direction.

Britax recommends using the tether at all times- including rf. There is a small tether connector strap (d-ring) that comes attached to the tether. Wrap that around something that is metal, immovable and anchored to the vehicle frame (seat legs work great). The rf tether point needs to be forward of the vehicle so that the tether angles forward, rather than straight down or backward.
