I used the EB 3 in 1 booster mode, and wow it was pretty wretched. The seatbelt wasnt even on her shoulder. It was across her chest and off her arm.

the lap belt WAS across her lower hips, which I guess is good.

I had heard these seats made crappy boosters, but man.:thumbsdown:

In my experience, even though the lapbelt part looks low, it rides up on smaller/skinny children in a crash.

Those seats just suck as boosters. I mean, I'm sure there are some children, somewhere, who must fit okay, but yeah, they aren't designed particularly well for most children.

I hope we love our Giraffe B510 for occasional use. Surely it does a better job as a booster

*I* think the B510 is a great booster.

Some parents feel it is too roomy for smaller kids. We started using it when my dd was bigger than yours, but she's tall and skinny, and it fits her just fine. The armrests help keep the lapbelt low, but to be honest, I think the Recaro Vivo or even the Graco TurboBooster does a better job of keeping the lapbelt low on really little kids. You won't know for sure until you try her in it, how it will fit her. But yes, the B510 is definitely a better booster than the 3-in-1 as a booster, IMHO.
