what made you choose signo over the true fit? (i was considering both but haven't found a lot of positive reviews on the signo)

Re: I just bought a TrueFit for $99.99 shipped!!

Well, I like both seats very much. I'm actually keeping my casino true fit for my 26mo. daughter who is still rf. What I didn't like about the True fit were:
    1. Difficulty adjusting harness, it always seemed like one side was loose.
    2. Lack of any padding appropiate for a 24lbs. 11mo. My son was too big for the infant padding so his head just flopped around when he slept.
    3. The release for the harness is very low and buried in my seat. This just makes it a little inconvienent.

Overall, I really like the True Fit. I think it offers a lot of great features for the price. Its nice and light (compared to the Signo which is just crazy heavy), very soft and comfy, easy to install, sits nice and low when installed. The Signo just fits my son better and I love the ease of tightening the harness! Actually, if they wern't so darn expensive I would probably consider getting my daughter one too (but my husband is going to freak out enough as it is!!) Here are some pictures showing you the difference between the two seats. Oh, I also tried my son in the Boulevard which I also loved!

Re: I just bought a TrueFit for $99.99 shipped!!

I know one reason why some people don't like the Signo is because of:
    1. Price, very expensive
2 Straps can get twisty, I've noticed this. You just have to stay on top of what the straps are doing! Not a big deal for me though, but I've only had the seat for 2 days!
    3. Seat sits up very high when installed
    4. Seat is not very deep, meaning that there could be a lack of leg support. Some owners say that this does not bother there kids though.
    5. Narrow. The seat may be too narrow for some kids as they get older, meaning that you may not get your money's worth (to the full 70lb. limit).
I can see that its pretty unrealistic that a 70lb. child will get any use out this seat. Here is a picture of the signo next to the compass, you can see the difference:

My Compass boosters do not fit in my MIL's Camry (along with DD's seat). Being the Camry's backseat is huge, it kind of surprised me. I could have squished them in but I wasn't comfy with it. Dang.

So now I have two Compass boosters sitting in my garage. Ack! I listed them on CraigsList at least..
    Two DS's in TurboBoosters
    One DD in a TrueFit

One surrogate son (RFing it at over one year old (phew!))

Re: I just bought a TrueFit for $99.99 shipped!!

Thanks so much for the pics and the comparison! It is really helpful to see the seats side-by-side, see actual kids in them (especially since my twins are nearing the size of your DS...13 mos. 18-19 lbs, and 28.5in), and hear the pros & cons.

I was worried about the harness adjuster on the True Fit being so low when installed rf'ing, but I really haven't read any other complaints about it. I have read many complaints about the Signo twisty straps. Anxious to hear in time how your's do.

I've also read complaints about the buckle on the Signo...too high up (long strap) sitting at the abdomen, and the buckle being hard to release (need strong grip). Do you have any problems with this?

Also, regarding the BLVD (& MA), the lower straps go across my DS's thighs instead of low on the hip like the SR. Did you find this with your DS as well at his size? It looks like the TF straps would sit on the lower hip, but can't see the Signo straps well.

Thanks for the info. I'm having a tough time deciding!

Re: I just bought a TrueFit for $99.99 shipped!!

I think the harness adjuster being low on the TF is a pain with certain vehicles. It does get somewhat buried in my vehicle seat but I can still access it, so no big deal for me
Hopefully someone else can chime in who has the signo for a while about the twisty staps.
I actually like the buckle on the signo. Its is a little higher than the TF but it makes it easier to buckle. It does require a little more force to unfasten it but hopefully it will get easier as it gets used more.
The Blvd. straps do across my son's thighs but I think that is common. I actually really like the Blvd. there isn't anything about it that I don't like. I just really wanted to try something new so thats why I got the Signo. The Blvd/Marathon would most definitly, 100% be a safe and awsome choice!!

Is that a sedona? I have one and was wondering about the truefit install in it.

The true fit installed great with latch and great with the seat belt (even with those terrible long buckle stalks!)
