After a lot of deliberation, I bought a Graco Platinum Cargo for my husband's car. One of the big reasons for selecting this seat was for airplane travel (we don't use his car very much). This seat was lightweight enough to carry around while changing planes (there are no direct flights where we go).
I took it out of the box today, and I saw that it doesn't have the red text on the side saying it's approved for airplane travel. The manual says, "This restraint is certified for use in Motor Vehicles. It is certified for use in Aircraft ONLY when used with the built-in harness." I'm afraid that we will get to the airport and some gate agent will refuse to let it on just because the red text isn't there, and that if I try to show them the manual, their brains will freeze up on the word "ONLY".
I'm really upset, because stupidly I didn't open the box until after the 30 day return window. Am I going to be screwed at the airport?
