After you're certified...what next?

My class is next week (YAY!), so I'd like to know what I can do after I'm certified. How do I get the word out? Do you have business cards? How do I volunteer at car seat checks? I've never seen any around here. Safe Kids are the only ones I've seen do them, but not around here - about an hour away.

Just wondering.

At the class you should have someone from your local coalition. You can ask them about any checkup events they usually have. They should also go a little over what to do with your certification.
Currently my local coalition has a monthly checkup and will be doing a few sponsored checks in the spring/summer. I also am posted at the firestation as backup incase they have someone come in when there is not a tech on duty, or are in the middle of checking the seat and get a call.
I'm also working on business cards to give out that just has our local coalition information on it, try to get the word out more.

Congrat and enjoy you class! Your instructors will answer some of this in class. You can get put on the local SK chapters emaill lsit to be informed of checks. You can do private checks on your own. Make sure you document everything! I have business cards I made through Vista Print.
