Carseat Travel Cases

Is anyone aware of these? Do they exist? We will be travelling in a couple of weeks and need a carseat for the rental car at our destination. I would like to take our Roundabout but do not want it to be naked in the cargo hold of a plane.

We are travelling with DD but did not buy an extra seat.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the board. We're all very nervous of checking carseats here because of the risk of unseen damage to the seat. We're also very nervous about travelling with a lap child, which is not safe.
If you must the seat, there are bags on wheels you can get (sorry I dont know any brand off hand) but they're so thin and don't seem to offer any protection. I would try and find any doufle that would fit the seat, or the original box if you still have it, and add A LOT of padding. If you think the flight might not be full, bring the seat with you to the gate and ask to use it on an empty seat. If there's no empty seat you gate check it, which is still better than counter checking in in terms of it getting all banged up

Is it too late to purchase a ticket for your daughter? If not, I would buy one now. Even if it is in a different part of the plane, the gate attendants will assist you in switching seats with other passengers so that you can sit together.

Here is a link about using seats on a plane:

Remember, most "crashes" are survivable, as most happen at take off and landing. Also, serious injury can occur during turbulance. Your daughter could fly out of your arms and be injured and she could become a projectile in the plane and injure someone else. She will also be more comfortable in her own, familiar seat.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I do know that it's safer for her to be in her own seat, unfortunately, it's too late to do that - tried it.

I was going to ask about gate checking the seat as well so thanks for that suggestion.

Anyway, thanks again.
