Three across in a Pontiac Grand Prix

A woman in a play group I'm in is expecting and is trying to figure out how to keep her almost 18 month old RF.

Stats:
Pontiac Grand Prix (not sure of year)
18 month old has a Decathlon
New baby due in a few weeks will be in a Snugride
10 year old needs a seat in back without a booster

She and her DH are very tall so apparently the Decathlon can't RF behind either outboard position. Anyone have any experience getting a Decathlon RF in center with a Snugride outboard in this car? They took it to a police station and the tech there couldn't do it but I thought maybe someone here might have some better pointers. Currently they have the Decathlon FF behind the driver, the Snugride is in the center and the 10 year old will sit behind the passenger.

I suggested it could maybe work with a Radian instead of the Decathlon. Now that I'm thinking about it, the baby will need a convertible in a few months so maybe they get a Radian now then go Decathlon and Radian next to each other when the baby is out of the Snugride.

Thanks if you're still following!

Since I posted this she's unwilling to even try and fit the SnugRide behind the passenger seat so really there is no option to turn the 18 month old back RF.

Thanks for replying.

Does she know she can install the DC more upright while RF? I am having a hard time beleiving it won't fit at all.

:yeahthat:

I didn't reply since I am not a tech and I have no experience with that vehicle, but we have my son's MA installed in the crew cab of a small truck behind the driver seat. My husband has to sit pretty far back from the steering wheel (long legs) and even reclines his seat a bit and our MA still fits.

I hope you can help her because it would be nice to know that the 18 month old is rear-facing!

I've used a MA rfing behind both the driver and passenger (with the seat fully back) in a Grand AM with no problem. I can't imagine the Grand Prix would have less room than the smaller AM.
