Runway Collisions!

Mom to a few

This is on the front page on msnbc, so hopefully more people will consider keeping their kids in carseats on planes. Most people seem to think that if the plane drops out of the sky from 30,000ft that a carseat won't make a difference anyway. Perhaps knowing that a big part of the risk happens on the ground will help. Too bad they didn't specifically mention restraints at all...but at least it's a start!

I recently read an article about a runway accident in 1988. Many people survived it, more than half. Of the children on the plane, only 2 were younger than eight years old, and they were the only children who didn't survive. Their mother did. :( It was SO sad to read that and realize that the lap-infant and the 2 year old may very well have survived had they been in carseats.
