Question Graco Nautilus 65 difficult to tighten harness

We just purchased (2) Graco Nautilus 65 car seats. Both are installed with the LATCH system. One in a 2007 Nissan Murano and the other in a 2012 Nissan Altima. When trying to tighten the harness by cinching it with the strap in between the legs, we have found it to be extremely difficult. It takes a good 3 minutes with using all my strength to get it tight enough. Did we do something wrong at install, or is this a common problem with this car seat? My son is too young to not use the harness and to go to the high back booster. He would not sit still in his seat without the harness.

Hi there. The Nautilus should adjust very smoothly. How hard is it to adjust when he's not in the seat? Have you tried uninstalling it to see if the splitter plate (the metal piece on the back that the harness is attached to) is stuck on anything?

Any solutions to this? I took mine out, it tightened fine and everything was good. Reinstalled and it was better for a little bit and is back to being extremely difficult now. I do not feel that I can ever get it right enough.

Very unsatisfying product...very bad design..very expensive products....they should stick with the 4 n 1 design .. when you adjust the side impact..the strap follows with the appropriate height why the design was changed......very very bad design waste of money..take it back....i sure did....
