How do I put my car seat in safely is middle or sides better

What seat or type of seat are you trying to install? From photos, it looks like there are lap/shoulder belts outboard and a lap only belt in the center. This car was made before seat belts had to lock, so you would need to know if any of them do. If the seatbelts have not been replaced, that might be worth looking in to. I am guessing there are no top tether anchors, which are important if you want to install a forward-facing seat.

Let us know what you find with the belts if someone here doesn't know offhand. Also the seat you are using and the age/weight/height of the child that will use the seat. We'll help you figure it out!

The center lap belt should have a heavy duty locking latchplate. It is fantastic to install car seats with.

Looks like you could have one of 2 different belt types in the outboard positions- either a lightweight locking retractor or a belt that doesn’t lock and will need a locking clip. The manual explains how to tell.
The manual also has info about contacting Buick about tether anchors.
